Sailing is for everyone! However, the general public falls into very different sailing skill-levels. From “what’s-a-knot?” to “I’ve-been-a-couple-times”, and from “I’m just trying to get my drink on” to “#SailLife” the abilities and desires are all over the map.
So how do we draw allllll of these sailors to the docks of Chicago Sailing? Segment the target audience, dig deep into their feelings about sailing, create some fun programs just for them and then create some fun marketing tools that get them to join those programs. Afterward, we created a unique follow-up message leading them into the next program and so on. With a strategic sales funnel that pulls sailors in at the skill level they have and then guides them through all the programs, Chicago Sailing could recruit newbies less and maintain relationships more. A much easier business strategy to implement from a boat.
